Bookkeeping and accounting for Atlantic Canada businesses
Reconciled books, sales tax and payroll that follow Atlantic Canada rules, from a bilingual Montréal-based team.
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador all use the HST, which makes sales tax simpler than in provinces with separate taxes. Each has its own workers’ compensation board and payroll rules, and New Brunswick is officially bilingual, so French-language service matters. We cover monthly bookkeeping, HST, payroll and corporate returns for owner-run Atlantic businesses.
Sales tax
The HST combines the federal and provincial portions and is filed with the CRA. Rates differ by province, so we confirm the current rate for your province and track it by transaction.
Payroll
Employers register for CRA source deductions and the provincial workers’ compensation board (WorkSafeNB, WCB Nova Scotia, WorkplaceNL or WCB PEI). We run pay runs, remittances and T4s.
Corporate tax
Atlantic provincial corporate tax is calculated on your T2 and filed with the CRA.

How does HST affect my filings?
