Behind on your books? We catch you up.
A clear plan to rebuild missing months, file overdue returns and get back on schedule.
You are not the first
Falling behind is common, especially after a busy year, a change of software or a missing bookkeeper. The longer it runs, the worse penalties and interest get, so the best step is to start now.
How catch-up works
- Assess. We review what is missing, which filings are overdue and what deadlines are close.
- Collect. You share bank, card and platform statements, invoices and any CRA or Revenu Québec letters.
- Rebuild. We categorize transactions and rebuild the ledger month by month.
- Reconcile. Every bank, card and loan account is matched to statements.
- File. We prepare late GST/QST, payroll and income tax returns in the right order.
- Stay current. We move you onto a monthly bookkeeping plan so it doesn’t happen again.
What late filing can cost
Late-filing penalties generally start at 5% of the balance owing plus 1% for each full month late, up to 12 months, and increase for repeat offences. Interest accrues on unpaid amounts. In some cases a voluntary disclosure program may reduce penalties if you come forward before being contacted. We assess whether it applies. See our guide to late and unfiled returns.
What you will need
- Bank, credit-card and loan statements for the missing period.
- Sales reports from Stripe, Shopify, Square or your point-of-sale.
- Invoices, receipts and payroll records.
- Letters or notices from the CRA or Revenu Québec.
