Filing personal taxes in Quebec is different from the rest of Canada because you complete two returns. Knowing what to gather first makes the job much faster.

Two returns, one deadline

You file a federal return with the CRA and a Quebec return (TP-1) with Revenu Québec. Both are generally due April 30, and any balance owing is due the same day. Self-employed individuals can file by June 15, but interest runs on unpaid balances from May 1.
