Bookkeeping and accounting for Yukon, NWT and Nunavut businesses
Reconciled books, sales tax and payroll that follow Yukon, NWT and Nunavut rules, from a bilingual Montréal-based team.
Businesses in Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut have no territorial sales tax, which keeps sales tax simple, but they have their own workers’ compensation boards, and the Northwest Territories and Nunavut have territorial payroll taxes. Distance from the south should not mean distance from your accountant. We keep monthly books, GST, payroll and returns in order, entirely online.
Sales tax
Only the 5% federal GST applies. We file on your assigned period and track input tax credits.
Payroll
Employers register for CRA source deductions and the territorial workers’ compensation board, and we confirm which territorial payroll taxes apply to you. We run pay runs, remittances and T4s.
Corporate tax
Territorial corporate tax is calculated on your T2 and filed with the CRA.
Personal and owner tax returns
Individuals and owners in Yukon, NWT and Nunavut file a single T1 with the CRA, which also calculates provincial or territorial tax. We prepare T1s for owners, self-employed people, landlords and non-residents. Personal returns are quoted per file; the owner return is $300 a year. See the service.
A virtual accounting office
No office visits: secure documents, video calls in your time zone and electronic signing. Repetitive tasks are automated and a person reviews everything. How it works.
